CW4 (Ret.) Thomas Hager, Senior Army Instructor
Mr. Hager is a native of Buffalo, New York. He enlisted in the Army in May, 1987, as a euphonium player
in the Wisconsin National Guard. He entered active duty in January, 1994, and was assigned to the 101st
Airborne Division (Air Assault) Band as a tuba player. In 2003, he deployed with the 101st Division Band
to Operation Iraqi Freedom 1.
In 2003, Mr. Hager was selected to attend the Warrant Officer Candidate School at Ft. Rucker, Alabama.
After completion of the Warrant Officer Basic Course, he was assigned to the 113th Army Band at Ft.
Knox, Kentucky. His other commands include two tours with the 2nd Infantry Division Band in
Uijeongbu, Korea, the 399th Army Band at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri, and the 101st Airborne Division
(Air Assault) Band at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. While with the 101st Division Band, he deployed twice to
Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Mr. Hager, awards and decorations include the Bronze Star (with Oak Leaf Cluster), the Meritorious
Service Medal (2nd Oak Leaf Cluster), the Army Achievement Medal (5th Oak Leaf Cluster), and the Air
Assault Badge.
